Wig Bay to Kirkcolm Walk
From the car park at Wig Bay follow the sign for the circular walk to Kirkcolm. Continue along the track, enjoy good views across Loch Ryan. Beyond the mouth of Loch Ryan, Ailsa Craig, used by thousands of nesting gannets, can be seen on a good day.

Portpartick South Walk
From Portpatrick this scenic walk heads south on a moorland byroad and visits a secluded seaside hotel and a castle ruin with a dramatic clifftop setting. The coastal scenery, together with birdlife and flowers a-plenty, make this a walk to remember.

Seascapes and landscapes abound on this simple circuit of three miles around and above Port Logan, Boasting a lovely bay and beach, a welcoming inn serving really fine food, an intriguing fish pool and the fantastic Logan Botanical Gardens just up the road. |
Castle Kennedy and Lochinch Castle Gardens
Lochinch Castle is home to the Earl and Countess of Stair and its landscaped grounds, together with Castle Kennedy Gardens, extend to some 75 acres, beautifully located between two natural lochs. The gardens are situated about four miles east of Stranraer. A delightful walled garden may be discovered behind the ruinous old castle and there are colourful borders before the present castle. Additionally there is a huge circular lily pond and spectacular spring displays of rhododendrons and azaleas around the grounds, which offer pleasant walks and fine vistas.
